What are we all about?
Ø We Matter should be a place where people with disabilities can share their stories, talents, dreams, and observations about people who do not have disabilities.
Ø We Matter will not be a “Pity the Disabled” site, book, or film. People with disabilities have the right to be human and we will not allow anything to be said or implied that dehumanizes people because of their disabilities.
Ø We Matter will always use people first language when talking about people with disabilities. We will never say anything that shines a bad light on a person’s disability.
Ø We Matter will try to always use first person accounts. By this we mean we will allow people to tell their stories in their own words. We will reserve to right to grammatical corrections (Spelling and punctuation errors), but we will not try to narrate or add our opinions to the stories we feature. In the case of video or audio interviews, we will ask questions to help guide the story, but we will not edit the answers we receive.
